About Shoreline Holiday Lights

Creating memories,
one bulb at a time

Shoreline Holiday Lights is a Connecticut-owned holiday lighting company serving the shoreline and surrounding towns. We're not a landscaping crew that hangs lights on the side — holiday displays are the entire business, and it shows in the work.

Every display is designed for your specific house. We measure your rooflines, peaks, windows, walkways and trees, then cut commercial-grade LED strands to length so the lines are tight, evenly spaced, and clip-mounted — no staples, no nails, no sag. When the season ends, we take everything down, label it, and store it climate-controlled until next year.

What We Install

Every surface, perfectly lit

Mix and match anything below — most displays combine three or four of these into one cohesive design.

Rooflines & Ridges

The signature look. C9 bulbs clipped along every eave, peak, and ridge line — cut to the inch so the spacing never breaks.

  • Warm white, pure white, or multicolor
  • All-clip mounting — zero roof damage

Trees & Shrubs

Trunk and branch wrapping on evergreens and deciduous trees, plus net-lit shrubs and hedges along the foundation.

  • Mini-light wrapping up to 30 ft
  • Canopy-safe, non-girdling technique

Wreaths & Garland

Fresh-look premium wreaths on doors and windows, with lit garland running columns, railings, arbors, and entryways.

  • Bows in your choice of ribbon
  • Sized to your door and window openings

Pathways & Driveways

Warm ground-stake lighting that lines the walk from the street to your front door — the detail that makes a display feel finished.

  • Mini trees, C9 stakes, or lantern stakes
  • Frost-line safe staking

Windows & Columns

Outlined window frames, wrapped porch columns, and lit railings that carry the display down from the roof to eye level.

  • Candles and wreaths per window
  • Spiral or barber-pole column wraps

Commercial Displays

Storefronts, restaurants, office parks, HOAs and town greens. Scheduled installs around your hours, with one point of contact from design through takedown.

  • A dedicated account contact
  • Off-hours installation available

How It Works

Five steps. Zero ladders.

From first call to spring pickup, here is exactly what happens.

  1. 1

    Free Consultation

We visit your home, measure every roofline and feature, and talk through the look you want — in person or over a video walk-through.

  2. 2

    Design & Mockup

You get a rendered mockup of your own house lit up, plus a written, itemized quote. Change anything before you commit.

  3. 3

    Professional Install

Our crew installs everything between October and early December. Most homes are finished in a single day, and you don't need to be home.

  4. 4

    Season-Long Support

Bulb out? Timer off? Storm knocked a strand loose? Call us and we're back out within 72 hours at no charge.

  5. 5

    Takedown & Storage

In January we remove everything, label it by section, and store it climate-controlled — so next year's install is even faster.

Why Choose Us

What you get that a DIY kit can't give you

Custom-cut to your home

Every strand is measured and cut for your specific rooflines. No gaps, no doubled-up runs, no extension cord hanging off the gutter.

A trained local crew

The same faces every season. We live and work on the shoreline, so we're still here in January when you need us — not a traveling crew that's gone by New Year's.

Multi-year rate lock

Sign on for two or three seasons and your price is locked, plus you get first pick of install dates every October.

Our calendar books up fast — most installations are confirmed before mid-November. Get in touch today for a free quote and mockup.

Reviews

What our neighbors say

They measured everything, sent me a mockup of my actual house, and installed it in one afternoon while I was at work. It looked better than the picture. We're already booked for next year.

Megan K.Guilford, CT

A strand went dark the week before Christmas and someone was at the house the next morning. No charge, no argument. That's the whole reason I'll never go back to doing it myself.

Dave R.Old Saybrook, CT

We used them for our restaurant on the green. On schedule, and they worked after hours so we never lost a table. The garland on the patio drew people in all December.

FAQ

Questions, answered

When should I book for the season?
Booking opens in August and most of our calendar is confirmed before mid-November. Installations run from early October through the first week of December. The earlier you book, the more control you have over your install date.
Do I own the lights, or do you?
We lease the equipment to you as part of the seasonal price. That means we're responsible for every bulb, cord, clip, and timer — if something fails, replacing it is on us, not you. It also means no storage bins in your garage and no equipment to replace every few years.
What does the price actually include?
Everything: the on-site design consultation, the mockup, all lighting materials, installation labor, timers and power management, in-season maintenance and repairs, takedown in January, and climate-controlled storage until next season. There are no separate removal or storage fees.
Will the installation damage my roof or gutters?
No. We mount exclusively with all-purpose plastic clips designed for shingles and gutters — never staples, nails, or screws. We walk the property with you afterward if you'd like, and we'll point out anything we noticed while we were up there.
What happens if a bulb burns out or a strand comes down?
Call or text us and we'll be back out within 72 hours — usually much sooner — at no charge. That's our stay-lit guarantee, and it covers wind, ice, and squirrel damage too. Estate clients get a 24-hour priority response.
Do I need to be home for the installation?
Not at all. Once the design is approved, we only need exterior access and one working outdoor outlet. We'll text you when we arrive and send photos when the install is finished so you can see it before dark.
When do you take the lights down?
Takedown runs through January, weather permitting, and is scheduled automatically — you don't need to call. If you'd like your display to stay up later for a specific event, just let us know and we'll work around it.
Do you do anything besides Christmas?
Yes. We also design seasonal displays for Halloween and fall, Valentine's Day, Fourth of July, and year-round permanent architectural lighting. Ask about it on your consultation and we'll include options in your quote.
